Viva Brighton Magazine
+ Open project information
Hold were invited by Alex Leith at Viva Brighton to design a cover for the April edition of their magazine. The commission was to be focused on the Brighton Food Festival, so we proposed supplying sweet and savoury alternate covers, both to be printed and distributed at random.
We drew inspiration from the scissor painting of Matisse, brought up to date with a more geometric handling of the shapes. We used simple shapes to represent the food as this conveys how we feel food should be – simple. The covers were really well received by the staff and public alike and we’re looking forward to further collaborations in the future.
