10 April 2015Secret 7" contributors
We’re immensely happy to have had 3 sleeves selected for this years Secret 7”, two for Underworld and one for Peter Gabriel.
Secret 7" take 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and press each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. They then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style for every 7”. 700 sleeves are exhibited and then sold for £50 apiece with the money going to Nordoff Robbins who work with people with a range of challenges such as autism, dementia, depression and physical and learning disabilities.
You don't know who created the sleeve, or even which song it's for, until you have parted with your cash - the secret lies within. This years contributors include Sir Peter Blake, Yoko Ono, Julian Opie, David Shrigley, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Paul Smith and Martin Parr.
We can't share the chosen sleeves yet as it would give the game away but you can view the full gallery here...
The exhibition runs from 10 April – May 3rd at Somerset House on The Strand, London. The sale day is on May 4th and starts at 10am. Admission is free so get there early!
